The Opportunity:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities. This is a key position within a school that is dedicated to fostering growth, innovation, and a positive learning environment for all pupils.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Class Teacher in managing pupils and preparing the classroom environment.
- Assist with the delivery of individualised learning plans and provide tailored support to students.
- Implement and monitor behaviour management strategies for pupils with challenging behaviour.
- Prepare and set out resources in line with lesson plans and curriculum requirements.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure a consistent and supportive approach to student care.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom culture through active participation in team meetings and planning.
- Support pupils during transitions and provide assistance with personal care where necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Previous experience of supporting children and young people with special educational needs.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of SEND pedagogy and individualised learning strategies.
- Experience with behaviour management plans.
- Familiarity with the Education and Health Care Plan process.
