The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with SEND, helping them achieve academic success and develop independence. This position offers the chance to make a real difference in a supportive and innovative learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEND in and out of the classroom to ensure they make progress and become independent learners.
  • Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions with a focus on core subjects.
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individual learning plans.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to promote a collaborative and inclusive environment.
  • Assist in organizing and managing resources and materials to support teaching and learning activities.
  • Monitor and report on student progress to ensure effective support and intervention strategies are in place.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development and support delivery of the curriculum.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture that values the well-being of all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant qualifications in education or a related field.
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience in a classroom or learning support setting.
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and best practices for supporting students with additional needs.
  • Experience with curriculum development and delivery.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and resources for students with SEND.
