The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with learning difficulties and those with Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with learning difficulties and those with EHC plans in lessons, small group work, and one-to-one sessions.
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure students receive consistent and effective support.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individual learning plans tailored to student needs.
  • Provide a caring and encouraging environment that promotes student confidence and engagement.
  • Monitor student progress and report regularly to the teaching team.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance support strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and support interventions.
  • Contribute to the overall school culture by promoting positive behavior and inclusion.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A caring and flexible attitude with a passion for supporting children’s learning.
  • The ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • A willingness to undergo training and support provided by the school.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a similar support role, particularly with students with learning difficulties.
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs or an EHC plan.
  • Familiarity with inclusive education practices and strategies.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
