Summary:

Learning Support Worker needed to make a difference in students' education and development.

As a Learning Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping students reach their full potential. You will provide individual and group support across a range of learning environments, ensuring students have the tools and support they need to thrive. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in their learning, including extended curriculum, external placements, and visits.
  • Assist with communication systems, personal care, mobility, and medication under supervision.
  • Contribute to planning, recording, and evidencing student progression.
  • Support students in various learning environments, including swimming and hydrotherapy sessions.
  • Maintain accurate records using the school’s information systems.
  • Liaise with families, carers, and other professionals as needed, ensuring confidentiality.
  • Participate in planning and review processes to support student development.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to meet student needs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with young adults with additional needs, including those who may display challenging behaviour.
  • Ability to support students in a variety of learning settings, including 1-1 and group sessions.
  • Commitment to promoting equity, fairness, and student well-being.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including term-time and weekends where necessary.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a care or hospital setting.
  • Experience with behaviour support strategies.
  • Knowledge of educational support frameworks and best practices.
  • Experience using data management systems or similar software.
  • Understanding of autism and complex needs support.
