As a Special Needs Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with SEND across a wide range of academic and extracurricular activities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEND during lessons, both in small groups and on a one-to-one basis.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualised learning plans.
  • Provide guidance and support to students during offsite educational activities.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to create an inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
  • Monitor and report on student progress in line with individual learning goals.
  • Offer emotional and academic support to students, promoting independence and confidence.
  • Participate in staff training and development to enhance support strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with parents and teaching teams.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Flexibility to support students across a variety of subjects and settings.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching practices.
  • Previous experience in developing and delivering individualised learning plans.
  • Familiarity with educational software and tools.
  • Experience with behaviour management strategies.
