Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the school library, ensuring resources are up to date and accessible.
- Support students, teachers, and staff in accessing information and resources that enhance learning.
- Promote reading and literacy through engaging activities and events.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to integrate library resources into the curriculum.
- Assist in the organisation of school events and activities that align with the school’s leadership and academic goals.
- Ensure a welcoming and inclusive environment for all users of the library.
- Keep detailed records of library usage and resource management.
- Provide guidance and support to students in developing research and information literacy skills.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A NVQ Level 1/Level 2 or equivalent qualification.
- Good level of literacy and numeracy skills to GCSE standard or equivalent experience.
- Experience in an administrative or reception role.
- Experience of working within an educational environment.
- The ability to maintain positive relationships with students and other adults.
- The ability to prioritise, work quickly and accurately, particularly under pressure and to deadlines.
Preferred
- Experience in a school library or similar educational support role.
- Knowledge of library management systems.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Experience in promoting reading and literacy initiatives.
