Summary:

Seeking a passionate Literacy Tutor to support Year 3 students in developing essential writing and speaking skills.

The Opportunity:

As a Literacy Tutor, you will deliver engaging and creative lessons to help Year 3 students build confidence in literacy. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on young learners through a structured and supportive program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver creative and engaging literacy lessons tailored to Year 3 students
  • Support students in developing writing, speaking, and listening skills
  • Supervise snack and play time with the assistance of older student mentors
  • Attend an induction session at the start of each teaching year
  • Follow shared lesson plans while using autonomy to design interactive and stimulating sessions
  • Prepare and organize classroom materials and resources
  • Participate in assemblies led by student groups and invite parents to observe sessions
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree-level qualification or equivalent
  • Experience teaching school-age children, preferably at primary level
  • Willingness to complete First Aid training or hold a valid qualification
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred

  • Formal teaching qualification
  • Experience with literacy development in primary school settings
  • Familiarity with creative teaching methods and curriculum design
  • Experience with mentorship or student leadership programs
