Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Mandarin lessons that are engaging and challenging for students across all key stages.
- Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that support student learning and achievement.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum, including opportunities for GCSE and A Level study.
- Support the school’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, and safeguarding by fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Participate actively in the school’s co-curricular programme and contribute to the wider life of the school.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent and high standards of teaching and learning across the department.
- Monitor and assess student progress effectively, providing constructive feedback to support continued development.
- Engage in professional development and continuing training to maintain and enhance teaching expertise.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Mandarin or a related subject.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, engaging, and inclusive teaching.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience teaching Mandarin at GCSE or A Level.
- Experience with teaching other languages.
- Experience in an independent or academically focused school setting.
- Familiarity with the Independent Schools Teacher Induction Panel (ISTIP).
