Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Mandarin lessons that are engaging and challenging for students across all key stages.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that support student learning and achievement.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum, including opportunities for GCSE and A Level study.
  • Support the school’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, and safeguarding by fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Participate actively in the school’s co-curricular programme and contribute to the wider life of the school.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent and high standards of teaching and learning across the department.
  • Monitor and assess student progress effectively, providing constructive feedback to support continued development.
  • Engage in professional development and continuing training to maintain and enhance teaching expertise.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Mandarin or a related subject.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, engaging, and inclusive teaching.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching Mandarin at GCSE or A Level.
  • Experience with teaching other languages.
  • Experience in an independent or academically focused school setting.
  • Familiarity with the Independent Schools Teacher Induction Panel (ISTIP).
