The Opportunity:

As a Maths Lead Practitioner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the quality of teaching and learning across the school. You will model outstanding practice in Maths and support colleagues through coaching and professional development. This is a unique opportunity to influence curriculum development and student achievement at a strategic level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding Maths lessons and model highly effective teaching practices
  • Support colleagues through instructional coaching, lesson study, joint planning and feedback
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of whole-school CPD in pedagogy, curriculum and assessment
  • Work with the Head of Maths to evaluate and improve curriculum planning, sequencing and assessment
  • Implement strategies to close attainment gaps and secure strong progress for all student groups
  • Act as a lead professional for teaching and learning, working with senior leaders to monitor and strengthen classroom practice
  • Ensure all safeguarding policies and procedures are consistently followed
  • Uphold high professional standards in line with school and organisational policies

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Outstanding teaching practice and excellent behaviour management
  • Experience of lesson observations and giving robust feedback
  • Experience of improvement planning and implementing strategies to raise student achievement
  • Evidence of improving the quality of learning and teaching and curriculum
  • Proven track record of excellent results at KS3 and 4, with experience of teaching to KS5
  • Experience of high quality pupil tracking and feedback practices

Preferred

  • Experience of leading or contributing to curriculum development
  • Experience of working in a high-achieving, selective school environment
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Experience of working with diverse student groups
