The Opportunity:

As a Pastoral Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting students' emotional and social well-being, ensuring they feel safe, supported, and empowered throughout their school journey. This is a key role in fostering a positive and inclusive school culture, while maintaining high standards of behaviour and academic achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and uphold school policies and procedures through professional behaviour and actions.
  • Liaise with the Head of Year, Safeguarding Manager, and Knights Leadership Team on student welfare, attendance, and behaviour.
  • Act as a key contact for parents regarding pastoral matters for students, ensuring prompt and accurate communication.
  • Apply the Academy’s attendance policy through regular communication with parents to improve punctuality and reduce absences.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and well-being using school systems such as CPOMS and MIS.
  • Provide regular reports to the Senior Leadership Team, teachers, and department heads on student pastoral development.
  • Keep up to date with developments in your area of responsibility and support the continuous professional learning of all staff.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Trust to ensure consistent implementation of policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in a pastoral or similar role within an educational setting.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with students, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and manage data using school systems.
  • Commitment to promoting the school’s values, ethos, and mission.
  • First Aid training or willingness to complete it.

Preferred

  • Experience in safeguarding or student welfare.
  • Background in behaviour management and pastoral care.
  • Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational organization.
  • Experience in supporting student attendance and punctuality initiatives.
