The Opportunity:
As a Maths Learning Support Tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and those requiring additional help in Maths up to Key Stage 4. This is a key position in the school’s commitment to ensuring every student reaches their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with special educational needs and those requiring additional help in Maths.
- Deliver targeted and individualised Maths tuition to enhance student understanding and achievement.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOS, and other support staff to develop and implement effective learning strategies.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to parents and teaching staff.
- Participate in the planning and delivery of extracurricular Maths activities and supplementary learning opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions.
- Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment that promotes confidence and engagement.
- Stay up to date with current educational practices and Maths teaching methodologies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Maths education.
- Experience working with students with special educational needs.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience in a school setting with a strong focus on learning support.
- Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies.
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment.
- Familiarity with assistive technology in education.
