The Opportunity:

As a Maths Learning Support Tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and those requiring additional help in Maths up to Key Stage 4. This is a key position in the school’s commitment to ensuring every student reaches their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with special educational needs and those requiring additional help in Maths.
  • Deliver targeted and individualised Maths tuition to enhance student understanding and achievement.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOS, and other support staff to develop and implement effective learning strategies.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to parents and teaching staff.
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of extracurricular Maths activities and supplementary learning opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment that promotes confidence and engagement.
  • Stay up to date with current educational practices and Maths teaching methodologies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Maths education.
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school setting with a strong focus on learning support.
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology in education.
