The Opportunity:

As Maths Second in Faculty, you will support the Head of Faculty in driving excellence in teaching and learning across all key stages. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the strategic development of Maths and contribute to raising attainment and progress for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist and deputise for the Head of Faculty where appropriate
  • Lead on standards of teaching and learning within the faculty
  • Support assessment and monitoring procedures at Key Stage 4
  • Analyse progress data to identify underachievement and implement effective interventions
  • Review and develop KS4 schemes of learning
  • Work collaboratively to ensure consistent, high-quality provision across the department
  • Contribute to the strategic development of the Maths Faculty
  • Support the implementation of school-wide initiatives and policies

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Maths
  • Proven classroom teaching experience at all key stages
  • Experience in a leadership or senior teaching role
  • Strong understanding of curriculum development and assessment
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or supporting departmental improvement
  • Experience with data analysis and intervention strategies
  • Familiarity with Key Stage 4 curriculum and assessment requirements
  • Experience in a large or multi-academy trust setting
