A school dedicated to providing specialist primary education in a calm, nurturing environment for children aged 6–11 with communication difficulties typically associated with Autism Spectrum Conditions.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate Primary Teacher to join our speech, language and communication needs class. This role offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of students with complex needs, while working in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver and develop curriculum plans tailored to students’ educational, physical, and social needs.
Collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team to support student progress.
Set, monitor, and review personalised learning targets in line with school policies.
Assess, track, and report student progress to stakeholders regularly.
Create structured, engaging lessons with clear objectives and challenge.
Contribute to reviews of Statements, EHC plans, PEPs, and LAC meetings.
Stay informed on autism-related developments to support effective teaching.
Work positively and non-confrontationally to meet individual needs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience working with children with speech, language and communication needs
Ability to teach across a range of subjects
Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with ASD, SEMH and PDA profiles
Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures
Experience of managing a range of approaches to behaviour, including managing behaviours that challenge
