The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate Primary Teacher to join our team and deliver high-quality teaching and learning tailored to students with autism. This role is ideal for someone who is committed to making a real difference in the lives of children and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and develop curriculum plans that meet students’ educational, physical, and social needs.
  • Collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team to support student learning and development.
  • Set, monitor, and review personalised learning targets in line with school policies.
  • Assess, track, and report student progress to stakeholders regularly.
  • Create structured, engaging lessons with clear objectives and challenge.
  • Contribute to reviews of Statements, EHC plans, PEPs, and LAC meetings.
  • Stay informed on autism-related developments to support effective teaching.
  • Work positively and non-confrontationally to meet individual needs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Ability to teach across a range of subjects
  • Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with ASD, SEMH, and PDA profiles
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures
  • Experience of managing a range of approaches to behaviour, including managing challenging behaviours

Preferred

  • Experience teaching KS1 and early KS2
  • Knowledge of specialist education for students with communication difficulties
