The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Sociology Teacher to join a successful department. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on student learning and development, while working in a supportive and innovative educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality A Level Sociology lessons using the AQA specification.
- Support students in achieving outstanding results and preparing for university or further study.
- Collaborate with departmental colleagues to develop and share teaching resources.
- Participate in weekly department meetings and contribute to curriculum development.
- Mentor and support Early Careers Teachers (ECTs) as required.
- Engage in the school’s wider community through extra-curricular activities and student support.
- Maintain accurate records and assess student progress effectively.
- Attend staff training and professional development sessions regularly.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Sociology or a related subject.
- Commitment to providing excellent teaching and learning experiences.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and support student achievement.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Willingness to take on a mentoring role for ECTs.
Preferred
- Experience teaching A Level Sociology.
- Background in sixth form education.
- Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and curriculum development.
- Experience with extra-curricular activities and student leadership.
