Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Maths lessons that inspire curiosity and a love for the subject.
  • Develop and implement engaging, innovative teaching strategies aligned with the school’s vision.
  • Support students’ academic progress through effective assessment and feedback.
  • Contribute to the pastoral care of students by leading and mentoring an Academic Mentoring group.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental practices and student outcomes.
  • Participate in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) to maintain and improve teaching standards.
  • Encourage student creativity and problem-solving through real-world applications of Maths.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes high standards of behaviour and attendance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in teaching Maths at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Strong commitment to student achievement and pastoral care.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching Post 16 Maths.
  • Familiarity with STEM-based learning and project-based teaching methods.
  • Experience with academic mentoring or pastoral roles.
  • Demonstrated success in developing student engagement and achievement in Maths.
