Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons in Religious Studies and Philosophy, aligned with the school's vision for learning.
  • Plan and implement effective schemes of work, assessments, and learning checklists to ensure student progress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and teaching strategies.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning in the subject area.
  • Lead and organize educational trips and events that enrich student learning experiences.
  • Create an inspiring and resource-rich learning environment for students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Good Honours Degree
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Evidence of wider professional development
  • Willingness to undertake further CPD
  • Relevant postgraduate studies
  • Experience teaching across two Key Stages
  • Proven ability to teach outstanding lessons
  • Experience teaching up to Advanced Level/Oxbridge
  • Experience working with students and providing pastoral support
  • Experience raising student attainment in a subject area
  • Experience planning and managing change within a subject-based area

Preferred

  • Experience researching and initiating subject-focused initiatives
  • Experience of subject-focused self-evaluation
