The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a motivated graduate to train as a teacher in Uniformed Protective Services while being employed and supported throughout the process. This is an excellent opportunity to gain a PGCE in Post Compulsory Education, with full financial support from the institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons to students on the Uniformed Protective Services course.
  • Support students through academic mentoring and pastoral care.
  • Cover classes in the absence of other teachers as required.
  • Participate in college events such as Open Evenings and Student Review Meetings.
  • Attend evening lectures and seminars for the PGCE qualification.
  • Prepare and mark student work in line with the school's high standards.
  • Collaborate with departmental colleagues to develop shared resources and teaching materials.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities provided by the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant degree in Uniformed Protective Services or a related subject.
  • No prior teaching qualification.
  • Commitment to a career in teaching.
  • Experience of working with young adults, preferred.

Preferred

  • Experience working in an educational environment or shadowing teachers.
  • Demonstrated collaborative working skills with adults.
  • Evidence of personal qualities that make a strong teacher.
  • Experience in extra-curricular or community activities.
