The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Media Teacher to deliver A Level and Vocational Media courses from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant department and make a real impact on students’ learning and future prospects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality A Level and Vocational Media courses, including Media Studies, Film Studies, and Digital Media.
- Support students in creating print and moving image productions as part of their coursework.
- Provide regular study support, 1:1 sessions, and revision guidance to ensure student success.
- Engage students in extracurricular activities such as film competitions, industry visits, and guest speaker events.
- Collaborate with the Work Experience/Careers team to support students in gaining work experience and progressing to university, apprenticeships, or the workplace.
- Contribute to the development of the Media Department and its curriculum.
- Maintain high standards of teaching and learning, with a focus on student achievement and progression.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Media Studies, Film Studies, or Digital Media.
- Ability to deliver A Level and Vocational courses up to Level 3.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Commitment to student success and professional development.
- Experience working in a school or sixth form college setting.
Preferred
- Experience with CTEC or BTEC Digital Media qualifications.
- Familiarity with media production software and editing suites.
- Experience in delivering extracurricular activities or industry-related events.
- Mentoring or leadership experience within a teaching environment.
