The Opportunity:
As a Midday Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring a safe, engaging, and positive lunchtime experience for students. This is a key position in maintaining a calm and welcoming environment that supports student wellbeing and social development throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise pupils in dining areas, playgrounds, and throughout the school during lunchtime.
- Encourage positive behaviour and maintain a calm, safe, and caring environment.
- Support pupils with play activities and promote positive social interaction.
- Assist with cleaning spillages and ensuring the tidiness of dining and play areas.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all pupils at all times during lunchtime supervision.
- Foster a positive school culture through consistent and supportive interactions with students.
- Work collaboratively with other staff to maintain high standards of behaviour and engagement.
- Contribute to the overall success of the school by upholding its values and mission.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a similar supervisory or support role within an educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage and de-escalate challenging situations with patience and professionalism.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Experience working with children in a school environment.
Preferred
- Experience with behaviour management strategies.
- Previous experience in a school lunchtime or pastoral role.
- Flexibility to work term time only and during lunch breaks.
- A positive, enthusiastic, and proactive attitude.
