The Opportunity:
As a Pastoral Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the academic and personal development of students. This position requires a proactive approach to student welfare, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents. The role is essential in maintaining a positive and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with pastoral and administrative needs, ensuring their well-being and academic progress.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and carers.
- Assist senior staff in promoting the school’s core values and maintaining a positive learning climate.
- Manage and resolve challenging situations with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Provide guidance and support to students in line with the school’s behaviour and inclusion policies.
- Collaborate with other pastoral staff to ensure consistent support across the academy.
- Attend training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of pastoral care and support services.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- The ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- A proactive and flexible approach to work.
- A commitment to promoting positive behaviour and inclusion.
- Experience in a school or similar environment is advantageous but not essential.
Preferred
- Previous experience in a pastoral or support role within education.
- Experience in managing student welfare and behaviour support.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Experience with administrative support in an educational setting.
Compensation & Benefits:
