The Opportunity:

As a Midday Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety, welfare, and positive experience of pupils during lunchtimes. You will be responsible for managing the playground, supervising children, and ensuring that all activities are conducted in a safe and engaging manner. Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise pupils during lunch periods, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Manage and monitor playground activities, promoting positive behavior and engagement.
  • Ensure that playground equipment is used safely and stored correctly.
  • Assist in setting up and tidying away equipment at the start and end of lunchtimes.
  • Engage with children in play and encourage social development.
  • Support the school’s mission to raise the social achievements of pupils.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team and midday assistants to maintain a consistent approach to supervision.
  • Report any concerns or incidents in a timely and appropriate manner.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children in a supervisory or support role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain discipline and manage behavior in a calm and professional manner.
  • Commitment to the school’s values of inclusivity and care.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Experience with child development and play-based learning.
  • First aid or safeguarding training.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work during lunchtimes and other required periods.
