The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Tutor to provide one-to-one and small group in-person tutoring in London and Surrey. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students’ lives through tailored, student-centred support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and bespoke lessons tailored to students' individual needs and learning styles.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students, fostering confidence and self-belief.
  • Work closely with parents and guardians to ensure consistent support and progress.
  • Follow the Bright Heart Approach, focusing on emotional well-being before academic development.
  • Maintain detailed records of student progress and provide regular feedback to stakeholders.
  • Adhere to safeguarding and child protection policies at all times.
  • Attend training sessions and ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with education consultants to ensure quality and consistency in tutoring delivery.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • At least 12 months of relevant tutoring and/or teaching experience in the UK.
  • Current Enhanced DBS certificate with a check of the children’s barred list.
  • Strong subject knowledge in the subject(s) you are applying to tutor.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • University qualification or currently studying towards one, with A-levels.
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN) or autism spectrum condition (ASC).
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Preferred

  • Experience with the National Tutoring Programme (NTP) or similar initiatives.
  • Availability for daytime tutoring sessions.
  • Experience with creating individual learning plans (ILPs).
  • Familiarity with study techniques and lifelong skills support.
