Online SEN Tutor needed in Manchester with experience and availability.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Online SEN Tutor to support students with special educational needs and autism spectrum conditions. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students through tailored, one-to-one tuition delivered remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective online lessons tailored to the unique needs of students with SEN/ASC.
  • Create bespoke learning plans that align with each student’s academic and emotional requirements.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates and support learning progress.
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment at all times.
  • Follow safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures strictly.
  • Collaborate with education consultants to ensure high-quality teaching and continuous improvement.
  • Stay up to date with SEN best practices and attend relevant training and development sessions.
  • Provide regular feedback to the school on student progress and areas for support.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • At least 12 months of relevant tutoring and/or teaching experience in the UK.
  • Strong subject knowledge in the subject(s) you intend to tutor.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • A current Enhanced DBS certificate (with a check of the children’s barred list).
  • A university qualification or currently studying towards one and A-levels.
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs and autism spectrum conditions.

Preferred

  • Availability for in-person tutoring sessions, including daytime hours.
  • Experience with the National Tutoring Programme (NTP) or similar initiatives.
  • Experience in creating and delivering individual learning plans (ILPs).
  • Familiarity with study techniques and lifelong skills development for students.
