The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Online SEN Tutor to support students with special educational needs and autism spectrum conditions. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students through tailored, one-to-one tuition delivered remotely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective online lessons tailored to the unique needs of students with SEN/ASC.
- Create bespoke learning plans that align with each student’s academic and emotional requirements.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates and support learning progress.
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment at all times.
- Follow safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures strictly.
- Collaborate with education consultants to ensure high-quality teaching and continuous improvement.
- Stay up to date with SEN best practices and attend relevant training and development sessions.
- Provide regular feedback to the school on student progress and areas for support.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- At least 12 months of relevant tutoring and/or teaching experience in the UK.
- Strong subject knowledge in the subject(s) you intend to tutor.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- A current Enhanced DBS certificate (with a check of the children’s barred list).
- A university qualification or currently studying towards one and A-levels.
- Experience working with students with special educational needs and autism spectrum conditions.
Preferred
- Availability for in-person tutoring sessions, including daytime hours.
- Experience with the National Tutoring Programme (NTP) or similar initiatives.
- Experience in creating and delivering individual learning plans (ILPs).
- Familiarity with study techniques and lifelong skills development for students.
