The Opportunity:

The Pastoral Support Manager will play a key role in supporting the Heads of Year and Deputy Head – Pastoral in delivering exceptional student support and safeguarding. This position is ideal for someone passionate about student well-being and committed to removing barriers to learning. The role is central to ensuring a supportive and safe environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Heads of Year and Deputy Head – Pastoral in delivering high-quality student support and safeguarding.
  • Act as the first point of contact for student well-being issues and provide specialist support where required.
  • Work collaboratively with the pastoral team to ensure consistent delivery of outstanding pastoral care.
  • Assist in the care and supervision of students across all year groups.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of pastoral policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and support to students and staff in matters related to well-being and behavior.
  • Attend relevant meetings and contribute to the pastoral leadership team.
  • Ensure all safeguarding procedures are followed in accordance with school and Trust policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a pastoral or student support role within an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take initiative when required.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student well-being.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Preferred

  • Experience working within a multi-ethnic and selective school environment.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and best practices.
  • Experience in supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Familiarity with the requirements of the Hamblin Education Trust.
