The Opportunity:

As a Music Tutor for SEND Students, you will deliver dynamic and inclusive music lessons tailored to the unique needs of learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This role is ideal for someone passionate about using music as a tool for learning, creativity, and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and inclusive music lessons tailored to the needs of SEND students.
  • Adapt teaching methods and lesson plans to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Support the academic progress and personal development of students through individualized instruction.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
  • Design and implement creative and interactive lesson plans aligned with the UAL Diploma curriculum.
  • Foster an inclusive and positive learning environment that encourages student participation and confidence.
  • Provide regular feedback and assessments to monitor student progress and development.
  • Stay up to date with best practices in SEND education and music teaching methodologies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching Music, preferably to SEND learners.
  • Relevant teaching qualification such as PGCE or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of the Music curriculum and UAL Diploma requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to create and deliver inclusive, creative lesson plans.

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with a range of additional needs.
  • Passion for inspiring creativity through music.
  • Familiarity with industry partnerships and real-life learning experiences.
