Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to the individual needs of students
- Assist students in overcoming barriers to learning and achieving academic goals
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to develop effective support strategies
- Monitor and report on student progress regularly
- Deliver support in a flexible and adaptable manner, without following a specific curriculum
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities
- Maintain accurate records of student support and interventions
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience supporting SEND students in an educational setting
- Strong understanding of various special educational needs and disabilities
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
- Patience, empathy, and adaptability when working with diverse learners
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively
Preferred
- Experience working in a higher education environment
- Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies
- Experience with assistive technologies or specialist support tools
- Experience in a creative or performing arts setting
