Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to the individual needs of students
  • Assist students in overcoming barriers to learning and achieving academic goals
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to develop effective support strategies
  • Monitor and report on student progress regularly
  • Deliver support in a flexible and adaptable manner, without following a specific curriculum
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities
  • Maintain accurate records of student support and interventions

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience supporting SEND students in an educational setting
  • Strong understanding of various special educational needs and disabilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
  • Patience, empathy, and adaptability when working with diverse learners
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively

Preferred

  • Experience working in a higher education environment
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies
  • Experience with assistive technologies or specialist support tools
  • Experience in a creative or performing arts setting
