The Opportunity:

As a Support Lead (SEND), you will lead and coordinate support services for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring they receive individualised assistance that supports their academic and personal development. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate support services for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Develop and implement individualised support plans tailored to student needs.
  • Liaise with students, parents, staff, and external agencies to ensure effective communication and support.
  • Monitor and assess student progress using relevant educational software and tools.
  • Provide guidance and training to support staff on SEND best practices and legislation.
  • Coordinate and contribute to the target setting and annual review process for students.
  • Promote an inclusive environment that respects the dignity and rights of all learners.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments to improve student support services.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in SEND support or related educational roles.
  • Strong understanding of SEND legislation, policies, and best practices within the UK education system.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for working with students, parents, and external agencies.
  • Competent in using educational software and tools for monitoring student progress.

Preferred

  • Experience with the annual review process and target setting for students with SEND.
  • Knowledge of creative and digital industries or education sectors.
  • Experience in a specialist college or similar educational setting.
