The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Support Tutor (Behaviour and SEND) to join our team and make a meaningful impact on the lives of students requiring additional support. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with behavioural challenges and special educational needs through individualised strategies and interventions.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to develop and implement effective support plans.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting support strategies as needed to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to students, promoting self-confidence and personal development.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions to enhance professional knowledge and improve support practices.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on student progress and interventions.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and success.
  • Liaise with colleagues across departments to ensure a holistic approach to student support.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in behaviour management or SEND support within an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and SEND frameworks.
  • Ability to develop personalised support plans for students with behavioural challenges or special educational needs.
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising effectively with students, colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when supporting vulnerable learners.

Preferred

  • Experience with developing and implementing behaviour management strategies in a school environment.
  • Knowledge of inclusive education practices and SEND legislation.
  • Experience in working with students who have complex needs or challenging behaviour.
  • Familiarity with creative and performing arts education or related industries.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
