The Opportunity:

As a Painting and Decorating Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping the future of students through high-quality instruction and curriculum development. You will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons that meet the needs of learners and help them achieve their full potential in a dynamic and supportive setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and develop teaching/learning programs using a variety of strategies and learning styles.
  • Assess learner progress in the college or on work experience and devise assessment processes against personal progress targets.
  • Take responsibility for the quality of teaching and related curriculum development.
  • Support learners in developing practical skills in Painting and Decorating.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching practice.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective learning experience.
  • Provide guidance and support to learners both academically and personally.
  • Maintain accurate records and report on learner progress and achievement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Literacy and Numeracy to at least Level 2.
  • Level 3 qualification or relevant NVQ in Painting and Decorating or General Construction.
  • Level 4 Teaching Qualification: Certificate in Education/PGCE/Bachelor of Education or the ability to achieve Level 5 Diploma (DTLLS) within 3 years of appointment.
  • Relevant assessment qualifications – IQA/A1/V1.
  • Evidence of current Continuous Professional Development.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching within a further education setting.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
