The Opportunity:

As a Part-Time Exam Invigilator, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all internal and external examinations are conducted professionally, fairly, and efficiently. This is a key position that supports both students and staff throughout the examination process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the administration of all public and internal examinations.
  • Liaising with examination boards to ensure full compliance with regulations.
  • Coordinating exam entries, amendments, and deadlines.
  • Preparing timetables, seating plans, candidate information, and rooming arrangements.
  • Liaising with invigilators regarding availability and providing updates on training and regulations.
  • Ensuring access arrangements are in place for pupils with SEND or additional needs.
  • Overseeing the secure receipt, storage, and dispatch of examination materials.
  • Managing results days and post-results services where required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Exceptional organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • The ability to remain calm and professional during busy periods.
  • Strong administrative and IT skills, including confidence with databases and spreadsheets.
  • Excellent communication skills with pupils, parents, and staff.
  • High levels of discretion and confidentiality.
  • The ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively.

Preferred

  • Previous experience as an Exams Officer or in school administration.
  • Knowledge of JCQ and awarding body regulations.
  • Experience working with SEND access arrangements.
  • Familiarity with MIS systems such as iSAMS or equivalent.
