The Opportunity:
A part-time Latin Teacher is needed to cover a temporary maternity leave period from September 2026 to July 2027. This is an excellent opportunity to join an innovative Languages Faculty and inspire students with your passion for Latin and the Ancient World.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Latin and the Ancient World to students at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Deliver engaging and interactive lessons that promote a love of language and culture.
- Support students in achieving academic success and personal growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Languages Faculty to develop and deliver a high-quality curriculum.
- Participate in faculty meetings, planning, and professional development activities.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning.
- Contribute to the school’s mission of empowering young women through education and leadership.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Latin.
- Experience teaching Latin at secondary level.
- Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in education.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly within a part-time contract.
Preferred
- Experience in leading or supporting faculty initiatives.
- Familiarity with teaching the Ancient World curriculum.
- Experience with Safer Recruitment practices.
- Knowledge of pastoral care and student welfare support.
