The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Music Teacher to join our Creative Arts team. This role will involve leading and developing curricular and co-curricular music programs, supporting student growth through performance and engagement in the arts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide musical leadership across the school, leading choirs, orchestras, and ensembles.
  • Deliver high-quality Music lessons and contribute to Performing Arts teaching.
  • Organise and deliver major school events, including concerts and performances.
  • Coordinate performances, tours, and events, ensuring all logistical requirements are met.
  • Plan and deliver schemes of work in line with school policies and curricular standards.
  • Monitor pupil progress, set and mark work, and support preparation for assessments.
  • Differentiate teaching to support the progress and wellbeing of all pupils.
  • Contribute to co-curricular and extra-curricular Creative Arts programs.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and participate in school events and meetings.
  • Maintain high standards of classroom management and learning environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong subject knowledge in Music with the ability to plan, assess, and adapt teaching to meet pupils’ needs.
  • Experience teaching across Key Stages 1–3, including preparation for external assessment.
  • Musical proficiency equivalent to Grade 5 piano (or another primary instrument).
  • A good university degree and PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality of opportunity, and the school’s ethos.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and designing schemes of work.
  • Confidence using ICT to support teaching and learning.
  • Experience contributing to pastoral care and pupil wellbeing.
  • Enthusiasm for professional development and collaboration within the school community.
