Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and effective recorder lessons to students across both the Senior and Prep schools.
• Support students in achieving success in graded examinations and encourage them to pursue music at GCSE and A-level.
• Collaborate with the Music department to enhance the overall music program and student experience.
• Lead and manage a co-curricular ensemble, if applicable, to further develop students' performance skills.
• Provide individualized feedback and guidance to help students reach their full potential.
• Maintain a high standard of teaching and continually seek opportunities for professional development.
• Participate in school events and performances, contributing to the vibrant musical culture.
• Work closely with other visiting teachers and department staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Excellent recorder playing skills and a strong background in music education.
• Proven experience in teaching recorder to students of all ages and abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to student development and musical excellence.

Preferred

• Experience in running co-curricular ensembles or groups.
• Familiarity with GCSE and A-level music performance requirements.
• Experience with teaching in an independent or selective school setting.
• Knowledge of music technology and its application in teaching.
