The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Visiting Music Teacher - Recorder to inspire and nurture the next generation of musicians. This role is ideal for someone passionate about teaching and committed to developing students' musical talents. The position involves delivering high-quality instruction and contributing to the school's strong music program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective recorder lessons to students across both the Senior and Prep schools.
- Support students in achieving success in graded examinations and encourage them to pursue music at GCSE and A-level.
- Collaborate with the Music department to enhance the overall music program and student experience.
- Lead and manage a co-curricular ensemble, if applicable, to further develop students' performance skills.
- Provide individualized feedback and guidance to help students reach their full potential.
- Maintain a high standard of teaching and continually seek opportunities for professional development.
- Participate in school events and performances, contributing to the vibrant musical culture.
- Work closely with other visiting teachers and department staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Excellent recorder playing skills and a strong background in music education.
- Proven experience in teaching recorder to students of all ages and abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to student development and musical excellence.
Preferred
- Experience in running co-curricular ensembles or groups.
- Familiarity with GCSE and A-level music performance requirements.
- Experience with teaching in an independent or selective school setting.
- Knowledge of music technology and its application in teaching.
