The Opportunity:

As a Pastoral Coordinator, you will be instrumental in promoting student wellbeing, personal development, and positive behaviour. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a meaningful impact in the lives of young people within a dynamic, supportive school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the wellbeing, personal development, and behaviour of students across the school.
  • Collaborate with Heads of Year, teaching staff, and external agencies to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all students.
  • Deliver targeted pastoral care and support to students facing challenges in their personal or academic lives.
  • Monitor and report on student behaviour and progress, working closely with staff to implement effective strategies.
  • Organise and lead pastoral events, workshops, and initiatives that promote student engagement and success.
  • Provide guidance and support to students, staff, and parents on pastoral matters.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide pastoral policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student support and interventions.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a pastoral, youth work, or educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with young people and colleagues.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students in secondary education.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in a Catholic or faith-based educational setting.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Experience in delivering pastoral support and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Familiarity with behaviour management strategies in a school environment.
