The Opportunity:

As a Senior Pastoral Officer, you will play a key role in shaping the pastoral care and culture of a year group, ensuring students thrive academically and personally. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic, forward-thinking school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement high-quality pastoral care strategies for a specific year group.
  • Work closely with the Head of Year and form tutors to support student progress, behaviour, attendance, and welfare.
  • Foster a positive, achievement-focused culture within the year group.
  • Proactively monitor and address safeguarding and welfare concerns.
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and community partners.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support the school’s ethos and values.
  • Ensure consistent and effective communication with all stakeholders.
  • Support the development of students’ future pathways and destinations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in pastoral care and student support.
  • Strong understanding of effective pastoral provision and school ethos.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Experience in working with young people and promoting their well-being.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting within a Trust or multi-academy organization.
  • Background in teaching or leadership within a school environment.
  • Experience with curriculum development or student progress tracking.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and best practices.
