The Opportunity:
A Pastoral Tutor is needed to support Year 12 and Year 13 students through the school's Pastoral Programme. This role involves providing guidance, addressing student concerns, and ensuring students are supported in both academic and personal development. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide pastoral support and guidance to Year 12 and Year 13 students.
- Monitor and report on student attendance, achievement, and well-being.
- Act as a first point of contact for students regarding pastoral issues.
- Collaborate with Pastoral managers and other services to address student needs.
- Deliver the school’s Pastoral Programme effectively.
- Support students in personal development and academic success.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate concerns promptly.
- Promote a positive and inclusive school culture.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant experience in pastoral care or education.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
- Understanding of Catholic values and ethos.
- Commitment to student well-being and academic success.
- Experience working with young people in a school setting.
Preferred
- Experience in a pastoral or tutor role within a Sixth Form College.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Experience with mental health and well-being support.
- Familiarity with pastoral programmes and student support systems.
- Experience in a Catholic educational setting.
