The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and skilled PE Teacher to provide maternity cover in our Senior School and Sixth Form. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students' lives through sport, while working within a supportive and innovative educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality PE lessons tailored to girls' sport, focusing on Hockey, Netball, or Gymnastics
  • Plan and implement engaging and inclusive sporting activities that promote physical development and teamwork
  • Foster a positive and motivating environment that encourages student participation and enthusiasm for sport
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the school’s ethos and commitment to student well-being
  • Stay up to date with best practices in sport science and PE pedagogy
  • Contribute to the development of the school’s sporting program and extracurricular activities
  • Monitor and assess student progress in line with school standards
  • Support the personal and professional development of students through sport

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching sport, either as a PE teacher or coach
  • Strong knowledge of sport science or a related degree, or a range of coaching qualifications
  • Commitment to the school’s ethos and values
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and take initiative

Preferred

  • Experience working in an independent school setting
  • Experience with girls' sport or coaching in a school environment
  • Familiarity with innovative and flexible teaching methods
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
