The Opportunity:
As a Performing Arts Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the Performing Arts and Media Studies departments. You will assist in the technical aspects of performances, teaching, and student projects, helping to bring creative ideas to life and enhance the learning experience for students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the technical requirements of performances, rehearsals, and events across the Performing Arts and Media Studies departments.
- Assist students with technical aspects of their written and recorded work, providing guidance and support.
- Prepare and manage equipment, ensuring it is in good working order for all school performances and events.
- Collaborate with department staff to deliver high-quality, engaging performances and productions.
- Maintain and organize technical resources, ensuring they are stored and used effectively.
- Assist with the setup, operation, and breakdown of stage, lighting, and sound equipment for events.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of whole school performances and events.
- Provide support during teaching sessions, ensuring technical needs are met and learning is enhanced.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in a technical role within a performing arts or media environment.
- Knowledge of stage, lighting, and sound equipment and their operation.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred
- Experience in education or a related field.
- Familiarity with digital media and recording equipment.
- Experience with teaching or supporting students in a technical capacity.
- Previous experience in event management or production support.
