The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Peripatetic Singing Teacher to join our dynamic Music Department. This role involves teaching singing to students across multiple year groups and leading a contemporary choir. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ musical development and overall confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-to-one singing lessons to students from Year 7 to Year 13
  • Act as director of the school's contemporary choir, 'Big Heart & Soul Choir'
  • Support and promote the performance of pupils within the Music Department
  • Provide motivation and inspiration to students of all abilities
  • Collaborate with the Music Department to enhance the school's music programme
  • Assist in the development of students’ vocal and performance skills
  • Engage with the school’s extracurricular programme
  • Maintain a high standard of teaching and student engagement

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant higher-level qualification or music degree with performance experience
  • Several years’ experience in teaching singing or instrumental music
  • Confidence and motivation to teach students of all abilities
  • Strong ability to lead and direct a choir
  • Commitment to promoting and supporting student performance

Preferred

  • Experience with contemporary vocal styles
  • Ability to work flexible hours, ideally including Thursday
  • Experience in a school or educational setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
