The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and inspiring Personal Development and PSHE Teacher to join our dedicated team. This role is central to shaping students’ character and preparing them for life beyond school, with a focus on Responsibility, Respect, and Reflection. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a real impact on student development and school culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Personal Development, PSHE, and Philosophy and Ethics lessons that align with the school’s core values.
- Foster a learning environment that encourages reflection, respect, and responsibility among students.
- Develop and implement engaging curricula that support students’ personal growth and understanding of spiritual, moral, social, and cultural issues.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive approach to student development across the school.
- Support students in developing the skills and attitudes necessary for success in education and life.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives and contribute to the school’s vision and mission.
- Monitor and assess student progress in line with the school’s standards and expectations.
- Provide pastoral support where appropriate and contribute to the well-being of students.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Personal Development, PSHE, and/or Philosophy and Ethics.
- Strong understanding of curriculum development and student-centered teaching.
- Commitment to the values of Responsibility, Respect, and Reflection.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching students with a range of abilities and backgrounds.
- Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Experience with Continuing Professional Development and a commitment to lifelong learning.
- Experience in a school setting with a strong focus on pastoral care and student well-being.
