The Opportunity:

As a Personal Development Tutor, you will play a key role in helping students develop essential life skills, personal characteristics, and employability abilities. This is a chance to make a real difference in the lives of students and support them in achieving their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and impactful group tutorials focused on personal development, social skills, and employability.
  • Support students in achieving their goals and preparing for life beyond college through individual and group sessions.
  • Liaise with parents, guardians, and other staff members to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
  • Facilitate sessions that promote Modern British Values and prepare students for the workforce or further study.
  • Provide guidance and signposting to appropriate support mechanisms within the school.
  • Collaborate with the Pastoral Team to ensure a consistent and effective tutorial programme.
  • Attend and participate in training and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant teaching qualification or willingness to pursue one.
  • GCSE A* – C in English and Maths, or equivalent.
  • Experience in pastoral care and student support.
  • Strong ICT and administration skills.
  • Ability to manage groups of students effectively.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering tutorial programmes or similar roles.
  • Knowledge of Modern British Values and their application in education.
  • Experience with student engagement and attendance support.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary – £29,390 - £33,602 per annum FTE.
