The Opportunity:

As a Physical Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in promoting student well-being and physical development. You will inspire students through dynamic lessons in volleyball, basketball, and athletics, while contributing to a school that values innovation and global standards in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging PE lessons aligned with the Massachusetts Common Core Curriculum.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
  • Assess student progress and set individual targets to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the school’s curriculum and extracurricular programs.
  • Participate in school events, parent meetings, and community engagement activities.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and school policies.
  • Support students from diverse backgrounds, including those for whom English is not their first language.
  • Stay up to date with professional development opportunities and apply best practices in teaching.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field with a teaching qualification.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in teaching PE at the KG to Grade 12 level.
  • Strong knowledge of volleyball, basketball, and athletics.
  • Experience in delivering exams and coaching high-level sports teams.
  • Recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular activities.
  • A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check.

Preferred

  • Experience working with students for whom English is not their first language.
  • Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child.
  • A positive and solution-focused attitude to working life.
  • Experience in curriculum development and collaboration with other departments.
