Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the delivery of Physics at Key Stage 5, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a robust curriculum that aligns with the school’s vision and educational goals.
  • Support and mentor other Physics teachers, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, using data to inform teaching strategies and improve outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance cross-curricular links and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Engage with parents and the wider community to support student learning and achievement.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Physics education and incorporate innovative teaching practices.
  • Contribute to the school’s wider strategic goals and initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Physics or a related subject.
  • Proven experience in teaching Physics at Key Stage 5.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills with experience in subject coordination.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and student welfare.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading curriculum development or subject leadership roles.
  • Familiarity with assessment and examination requirements at Key Stage 5.
  • Experience with using technology in teaching and learning.
  • A track record of improving student outcomes and engagement.
