The Opportunity:
We are looking for a motivated Politics Teacher with History to join a vibrant and successful department. The role offers the opportunity to teach A level Politics and contribute to a wide range of extra-curricular activities, helping students achieve academic excellence and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in Politics and History to A level students.
- Develop and implement effective schemes of work and teaching resources.
- Monitor and track student progress to ensure academic success.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of departmental activities and initiatives.
- Engage students through extra-curricular opportunities such as trips and guest speaker events.
- Participate in staff development and professional learning activities.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
- Support the school’s mission and values, including safeguarding and promoting equality and diversity.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Politics and History.
- Ability to teach the Edexcel A level Politics specification (Papers 1, 2, and 3B).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to student welfare and academic success.
- Experience in working within a team and contributing to departmental goals.
Preferred
- Experience with post-16 teaching and learning strategies.
- Familiarity with using IT and online platforms in teaching.
- Recent teaching experience or ECT (Early Career Teacher) status.
- Involvement in extra-curricular activities and student engagement initiatives.
