The Opportunity:

We are looking for a motivated Politics Teacher with History to join a vibrant and successful department. The role offers the opportunity to teach A level Politics and contribute to a wide range of extra-curricular activities, helping students achieve academic excellence and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in Politics and History to A level students.
  • Develop and implement effective schemes of work and teaching resources.
  • Monitor and track student progress to ensure academic success.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of departmental activities and initiatives.
  • Engage students through extra-curricular opportunities such as trips and guest speaker events.
  • Participate in staff development and professional learning activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
  • Support the school’s mission and values, including safeguarding and promoting equality and diversity.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Politics and History.
  • Ability to teach the Edexcel A level Politics specification (Papers 1, 2, and 3B).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and academic success.
  • Experience in working within a team and contributing to departmental goals.

Preferred

  • Experience with post-16 teaching and learning strategies.
  • Familiarity with using IT and online platforms in teaching.
  • Recent teaching experience or ECT (Early Career Teacher) status.
  • Involvement in extra-curricular activities and student engagement initiatives.
