The Opportunity:

As an SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality literacy or numeracy education to students with a range of complex needs. This is a unique opportunity to work within a specialist setting, supporting students to achieve their full potential through tailored and meaningful learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated literacy or numeracy lessons tailored to individual student needs
  • Teach using a stage-not-age approach to ensure learning aligns with each student’s developmental level
  • Support students in developing core knowledge and functional skills with a focus on accreditation pathways
  • Foster confidence, resilience, and independence through creative and structured teaching methods
  • Monitor, assess, and track student progress in line with EHCP outcomes
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student well-being and learning
  • Develop and implement individualised learning plans to meet student goals
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and growth

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in SEN or inclusive education
  • Strong understanding of teaching literacy or numeracy to diverse learners
  • Ability to adapt learning creatively to meet a wide range of needs
  • Commitment to personalised learning and achieving the best outcomes for every student
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with autism, emotional behavioural difficulties, or ADHD
  • Familiarity with specialist SEN teaching approaches and strategies
  • Experience in delivering structured and creative teaching methods
  • Knowledge of EHCP and SEN support frameworks
  • Experience in a specialist or inclusive education setting
