The Opportunity:
We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Premises Officer to join our team and ensure the smooth running of the school site. This role involves managing the maintenance and security of the premises, carrying out minor repairs, and ensuring the school environment is safe and functional for all students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the security and safety of the school premises at all times
- Carry out general site maintenance and minor repairs using appropriate equipment
- Ensure all maintenance and repair work meets the required standards
- Work collaboratively with the premises team to support the efficient use of the school site
- Assist with the management and upkeep of specialist facilities and equipment
- Undertake physical and outdoor tasks as part of the role, including work in all weather conditions
- Support the school’s commitment to a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment
- Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure a secure working environment
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in premises maintenance or a related field
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to carry out physical and outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards
Preferred
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting
- Knowledge of maintenance equipment and tools
- Experience with health and safety procedures
- Flexibility to work term time only with additional weeks as required
- Commitment to supporting the needs of students with sensory impairments
