The Opportunity:
As a Premises Officer, you will be responsible for the security and smooth operation of a large, high-performing school. This role is critical to the safety and integrity of the site, requiring a high level of trust, attention to detail, and responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Secure opening and locking of the site, ensuring all areas are checked and vacated
- Maintain key control and site security, ensuring procedures are followed consistently
- Respond to alarms and security issues promptly and effectively
- Conduct regular site checks to ensure safety, compliance, and maintenance standards
- Carry out general maintenance and repair work, including plumbing, lighting, and basic carpentry
- Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the school grounds and buildings
- Support contractor management and oversee site works as required
- Assist with porterage, deliveries, and room setups for school events and activities
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- High level of reliability and accountability
- Practical and hands-on skills for carrying out maintenance tasks
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond to issues methodically
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures consistently
- Professional communication and conduct at all times
- Flexibility to work on a shift rota, including early starts, late finishes, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
Preferred
- Experience in a similar premises or site management role
- Familiarity with security systems and procedures
- Basic knowledge of maintenance and repair tasks
- Experience with key control and site security protocols

- Competitive salary range of £30,288 – £31,611 per annum
