Key Responsibilities:
- Establish warm, caring relationships with students to support their emotional and academic development.
- Support class teachers in managing daily classroom activities and promoting student independence.
- Adapt to changing needs and assist in the smooth running of the school, including occasional physical intervention with full training provided.
- Encourage cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development through structured learning and support.
- Promote a positive and inclusive school culture that values student and staff well-being.
- Contribute to the overall mission and goals of the school when required.
- Assist in the delivery of a broad and creative curriculum tailored to student needs.
- Support students in developing self-confidence and life skills essential for future independence.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- GCSE in Maths and English (minimum Grade 4 or equivalent).
- Commitment to working with children with communication difficulties.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of students and the school.
Preferred
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Experience in a special school environment.
- Team TEACH training.
- Experience with students on the autism spectrum.
