The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons and preparing resources for students aged 2 to 11
  • Provide individual and small-group assistance to help pupils develop their skills and confidence
  • Supervise the class for short periods when required
  • Promote positive behaviour and social development in line with school policies
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and colleagues to enhance pupil progress
  • Contribute to school events, open days, and extracurricular activities
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for all students
  • Assist in the implementation of the school’s scheme of work and values

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant early years teaching assistant qualification
  • Passion for working with children and supporting their learning
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and colleagues
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to pastoral care and promoting positive behaviour

Preferred

  • Experience in early years education
  • Familiarity with the national curriculum and its integration into teaching
  • Experience with extracurricular activities such as music, sport, and drama
  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting
